Celebrating 55 years of supporting the Anacortes Public Library.

The Friends of the Anacortes Library are dedicated to making the Anacortes Public Library a vibrant and enriching place. With your support, we can continue to supplement the Anacortes Library's book purchasing budget, ensuring that the shelves are stocked with a wide variety of materials for all ages, as well as offer engaging programming for children, teens, and adults alike, fostering a love for reading and learning in our community.

Join us in our efforts to make the Anacortes Public Library a cornerstone of knowledge, discovery, and community connection. Together, we can continue to create a welcoming and inclusive space where individuals of all backgrounds can explore, learn, and grow.

Volunteer with Us

We have many volunteer opportunities available, most importantly, in our FriendShop.

The FriendShop is staffed entirely by volunteers. Volunteers do a number of tasks including staffing the sales desk, processing donations, displaying items for sale, weeding books from the shelves, and keeping the bookshop neat and tidy. If you’re interested in any of these activities, please reach out to us.
