Friends of the Anacortes Public Library
Minutes for December 9, 2021 Board meeting conducted on Zoom.
Present:
Board members: Megan Taylor, Kandy Dubuque (Co-Presidents)Hal Rooks (Treasurer), Tress Connolly (Secretary), Kay O’Connell, Patrick Gallagher.
Absent: Susan Rooks (Vice-President)
Library Staff: Jeff Vogel, Sydney Brady, Leslie Wilson and Diana Farnsworth
Library Board of Trustees Liaison: Christina Hansen
Presidents
Kandy presided and called the meeting to order at 2:01 p.m.
Secretary
Tress sent the November 10, 2021 minutes to the Board in advance for review. Megan moved and Hal seconded a motion to approve the November minutes. They were unanimously approved by the Board.
Treasurer
Hal sent the treasurer’s reports to the Board in advance for review. Tress moved and Megan seconded a motion that they be approved. They were unanimously approved by the Board.
Hal pointed out that the Library has spent just over 50% and the Friends have spent less than 40% of their budgets to date. The money not spent will be put back in the budget on January 1, 2022.
Hal noted that donations remain generous. In November, $1,400 was donated, $1,200 of that was donated by three people.
Old Business
Holiday Sale
Megan reported that the sale in the lobby and the bookshop was a success. The total made was $520 between the lobby and shop. Six volunteers helped at the sale.
Tress reported that having the shop open worked well. About eight people could browse at a time and keep a safe distance. Many people commented on how glad they were to be able to come into the shop.
