Because of the corona virus shutdown no donations are presently being accepted! Please save your material for donation to the Library at some later date.
Although the Anacortes Library FriendShop accepts some library discards, it relies on your donated books and audio-visual material for most of its inventory. Here is a basic guide to making your donation.
Where?
Bring in your gently used books, CDs, and DVDs to the Library’s donation cart located beside the slots for Library returns, just inside the sliding doors at the inner entrance to the Library. (Please do not place donations in the return slots.)
If you have a large number of donated items, please consider placing them in a box, and bringing them to the back door of the Library.
What?
Based on our sales history, and the high standards our customers have come to expect, we do have some basic guidelines for what items we are willing to accept.
We do NOT accept encyclopedias or other reference books that are over ten years old.
We do NOT accept magazines, unless they have collectible value (i.e. rare editions, or those with historical significance).
We do NOT accept books with water damage, mold, or heavy soiling.
We do NOT accept religious/political tracts, or self-published works.
At this time we are not accepting any audio cassette tapes or VHS tapes.
