Friends 50th Anniversary Celebration!
Events for 50th Anniversary Celebration of the Friends of the Anacortes Public Library:
Saturday September 7 at 3 o’clock Balloon Fun at the Library - Enjoy an afternoon of family fun with Bill “The Clown” Testerman and his balloons at the playground on the east side of the library at 1220 10th St. Watch Bill as he twists and turns balloons into animals, flowers, headbands and a variety of other shapes. Maybe he can make a special one just for you! Bill will also teach the audience how to create his magical shapes. In case of rain, the show will take place in the Library’s Community Room. Cupcakes will be served.
October 1 – 25th, Raffle tickets for a beautifully quilted wall hanging for a child’s room will be on sale from October 1 through October 25th in the lobby of the Library. The quilt will be on display inside the entry door to the Library. Mayor Laurie Gere will draw the winning ticket on October 26th at approximately 2:30 p.m.
October 26th, at 2:00 pm. Final events will be kicked off by the Harmonaires, a women’s barbershop group, who will be performing old-time favorites in the Library lobby.
